Flood Secures State Grants to Support Public Safety and Infrastructure in Northampton County

HARRISBURG — Rep. Ann Flood (R-Northampton) is pleased to announce state funding totaling $612,033 for critical projects across Northampton County through the Local Share Account (LSA).

“These grants provide essential resources to strengthen emergency services, enhance public safety, and maintain critical community infrastructure,” Flood said. “By investing in these projects, we are equipping our local first responders to better protect our families and ensuring our communities have the tools necessary to thrive.”

Northampton County projects funded through the LSA include:

• Bushkill Volunteer Fire Company: $25,000 for a hydraulic rescue tool system.
• Bushkill Township Police Department: $85,000 for two new police patrol SUVs.
• Bangor Borough: $85,996 for police department radio upgrades.
• East Bangor Borough: $17,832 for a speed radar trailer.
• Lower Mount Bethel Township: $30,000 for Riverton Park amphitheater/bandshell.
• Lower Mount Bethel Township: $50,000 for Sandt’s Eddy Fire Company rescue boat.
• Northampton County: $100,000 for Habitat for Humanity Forks Township project.
• Northampton County: $60,000 for Recovery Revolution building improvements.
• Portland Borough: $25,000 for Portland Water Authority antenna/meter project.
• Roseto Borough: $10,000 for police department radios.
• Roseto Borough: $37,860 for mobile data terminal and license plate readers.
• Upper Mount Bethel Township: $50,000 for Shady Lane Bridge.
• Washington Township: $30,000 for Ford utility police interceptor vehicle.
• Washington Township: $78,345 for Washington Township Fire Company tanker.

The Local Share Accounts were established by the Pennsylvania Race Horse Development and Gaming Act. The funds are generated by the state’s gaming facilities and may be used for economic development, community development, and public interest projects in Northampton, Lehigh, and Monroe counties, and their contiguous counties.
The grants were approved today by the Commonwealth Financing Authority Board in Harrisburg.
