FREE FLU SHOTS will be administered by the Wind Gap Community Pharmacy. To be vaccinated, please bring your Medicare card and any secondary or Schedule D card. Vendor door prizes, entertainment and light refreshments will be available. We will be following and asking all visitors to adhere to any federal, state or local health mandates related to COVID-19 that are in place at the time of this event, which includes but is not limited to the potential need to wear masks. Blood Drive at Our District Office Friday, Oct. 8, from 10:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Our District Office 196 W. Moorestown Road, Wind Gap We are working with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive at our district office. The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be there to collect blood donations from participants. If you would like to participate, we strongly encourage you to schedule an appointment to donate blood. Participants can schedule an appointment by visiting www.RedCrossBlood.org and entering “Ann Flood” or calling 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767). Please remember to wear a mask if you have not been fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Participants must bring their photo ID to their blood drive appointment. Protect Your Identity at Our Shredder Event Saturday, Oct. 9, from 10 a.m. to noon Wind Gap Middle School 1620 Teels Road, Wind Gap You can help protect your identity by shredding documents with personal and sensitive information at our upcoming FREE paper shredding event on Saturday, Oct. 9, from 10 a.m. to noon at Wind Gap Middle School. The event, which will feature an on-site industrial paper shredder, will provide the opportunity for households to shred up to four boxes or bags of materials. Please be aware of the following specifications and limitations: • There is a limit of four boxes or bags per household. • Hanging folders and X-rays cannot be shredded and should not be brought to the event. • This event is for home and personal paper shredding only; no businesses please. • Paper and manilla folders are the primary examples of materials that can be shredded. • Staples and paperclips do not need to be removed for the papers to be shredded. Helping the Hungry Our district office currently is collecting non-perishable food items, which we will deliver to four different local communities in upcoming months. The food will be delivered to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bath, the Salvation Army in Pen Argyl, Nazareth Food Bank in Nazareth, and Benders Mennonite Church in Plainfield Township. Those who would like to participate in this effort may bring non-perishable food items with them to our district office or any of our upcoming events. We recently delivered our latest assortment of food to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bath. Thank you to everyone who made possible this delivery of food to hungry people in need.
